I had a great time. The food was delicious, service was great and friendly. They so helpful with deciding on our order selections. And the prices were inexpensive. I'll come back with friends to share in another great experience.

Dive bar New Orleans style with random playlist and tv playing an array of different things. Not fancy/cozy or anything -but Foods damn good for bar food and a nice change of pace. Not busy and not too bright.

The Po'Boys are a hit. We got the Blacken shrimp and it has a nice kick to it, but I would consider it a mild spice. You can always ask for them to make it spicier they will be than happy to do so.

Also, the zucchini fries are cut in circles which I love because they are bite size and a little crispness all around.

The only thing missing is a side a Mac and cheese. I hope they add it to the menu soon

The Little Jewel of New Orleans is a cozy, charming eatery that offers a taste of authentic New Orleans cuisine. Guests often highlight the flavorful po’boys, seafood dishes, and classic Creole flavors. The atmosphere is intimate and welcoming, giving it a genuine neighborhood feel. Portions are generous, and the staff is friendly and attentive. While some may find it small and busy during peak hours, the quality of food and the authentic experience make it worth visiting. Overall, it’s a delightful spot for anyone seeking traditional New Orleans comfort food.

Insane flavor on the surf and turf po'boy sandwich - in the top ten sandwiches I've ever eaten. LA lacks good Cajun food and this is one of the first Southern cuisine restaurants I've eaten from that's truly hit the spot. It's even a bit too salty for me, but that's Southern food.

Went here on a Sunday afternoon (LSOB). Place wasn't too busy. Parking is on the street, so it may be difficult to find a spot.

The inside has a lively vibe. Colorful, full of vintage decorations. I ordered a beignet and a café au lait with a muffaletta to go. The beignet was a little rough on the exterior, but very delicious. The powdered sugar adds a soft bite. The café was good, nothing special. I had the muffaletta later, and that was delicious!

Overall, I'd definitely come back to try their other items. We had just ate, so we really didn't get a full dining experience. Their little market felt empty, but they had some good selections of creole and cajun seasonings and pre-made roux. Their bar next door is really cool too. Highly recommend checking this place out.

If you’re craving Cajun food in LA, this spot is a hidden treasure. I had the shrimp po’ boy, and it was packed with flavor and spice, just like the ones I’ve had in New Orleans. The market inside sells Southern groceries you can’t usually find in LA. The staff are laid-back and happy to chat about the menu. It’s authentic and soulful in the best way.

We went here on a whim, just cause seemed like a really cool spot. We came close to their afternoon closing so it wasn’t too busy. My goodness, the food was spectacular. We had the op boys special -sloppy Joe as well as the craw Mac deluxe. Service was great too. The have a huge assortment of really cool drinks. Jambalaya was fantastic! I will definitely come back to explore more items.

I have been wanting to come here for the longest time. A friend of mine recommended the place. I finally got the chance to stop by and try the PO'boy. It was delicious and spicy 🔥 just how I like it. If you're visiting Olvera street you must stop by and try it. Let me know if you do.

My recent visit to this cafe-restaurant was truly a memorable experience. From the moment I stepped inside, I was greeted by a friendly staff and a warm, inviting atmosphere. The decor is modern yet cozy, creating a perfect setting for both casual meetups and relaxed solo visits. The ambiance is complemented by soft music and comfortable seating, making it an ideal place to unwind.

The menu features a diverse selection of dishes, and I was impressed by the variety and quality. I ordered their vegetarian lasagna and a freshly squeezed juice, both of which were outstanding. The lasagna was rich, flavorful, and made with fresh ingredients, while the juice was vibrant and refreshing. It’s evident that the kitchen prioritizes quality and attention to detail.

Service was prompt and attentive without being overbearing. The staff was knowledgeable about the menu and eager to recommend popular dishes. The cleanliness of the establishment was impeccable, and safety protocols were clearly observed, which made me feel very comfortable.

Prices are reasonable, especially considering the high standard of food and service. Overall, this cafe-restaurant offers a perfect combination of delicious food, excellent service, and a cozy atmosphere. It’s a fantastic spot for a quick coffee break, a casual lunch, or even a small gathering. I will definitely return and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a quality dining experience.

Authentic NOLA Street Cuisine in an Unexpected Place.

I can’t rave about Little Jewel more, it’s more like “hidden gem”, this is where I take people from out of town to eat and everyone loves it.

Highly recommend the catfish, it was breaded to perfection. Muffuletta was baked on a delicious focaccia and paired with spicy and salty lunch meats. Bread pudding was also a standout. However, I was really underwhelmed by the jambalaya, expected it to be the best thing here but it was pretty bland and unremarkable.

Do yourself a favor and save space at the end for coffee and warm beignets.

Would definitely recommend eating here immediately if you’re in Chinatown!

We had some soul food plates and they were good. I wasn’t a big fan of cat fish but I never have been. The fried crab was so delicious! The gumbo was spicy favorably. The place is very unique and the staff is super friendly! People seem to buy the subs here more than the fried soul food.

Absolutely love this place🩷You feel comfortable and at ease with the nostalgia of signs, posters, photos, food, and setting of being in a Louisiana atmosphere. There is so much to choose from and the portions are a good size. The food is good and I loved the fried pickles and sandwiches. There’s a variety of drinks to choose from and also groceries to purchase. They have the best chicory latte… it’s was amazing and well worth the travel. There’s plenty of room to eat inside and outside😊;plus being able to enjoy a drink, watch tv… enjoy one another’s company. The staff is great and welcome you with professionalism. They are there the help and make great suggestions; the menu is located on the wall and on paper. So if you’ve never been there, it’s a must. It’s one of my daughter’s favorite places to go and it was my first time there and won’t be my last.💜💜

Food and service was excellent. Not your usual LA type food. Lots of different flavors and options to check out. We got 2 po boy sandwiches spicy sausage with swiss and shrimp po boy whith bacon and smoked chedar . Also ordered the craw mac deluxe and that was probably my favorite. Little kick to it but was excellent. Super cheesey sausage and crawfish. So many things on the menu and everything sounded great. Will definitely be back.

Came here for the first time and I can already say that it won’t be the last. Their food is full of so much flavor. Nothing bland here. It’s also very fresh. I highly recommend their Cajun po’boy sandwhich and their Cajun fried shrimp. It’s got a little kick but nothing a cream vanilla soda can’t fix.

Drive 3 hours a few times a year just to get to this place. I have tried different things each time you can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. This place knows exactly what to do and honestly, I wouldn’t care if they didn’t; it’s delicious. It’s worth every dollar and all the hours I’ve been stuck in traffic trying to get there. Service is always friendly, food comes out in a reasonable amount of time, and the place is in a comfortable environment. I pay for parking every time just in case but its not too hard to find a spot around here. Thank you little jewel, I love you, I’ll never stop coming back! 🫶🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻

First time here and it did not disappoint. Walked in after helping my family move. We ordered a (not completely accurate menu names) French fry poboy, surf turf pboy and muffuletta. I thought I was gonna save some left overs for when I got home.. didn’t even think about it after taking the first few bites, that poboy was delicious! We left nothing but the paper essentially (shown in last pic). The service was top tier, very cool and chill people who will make you feel welcomed. I believe the receipt said “Shaggy” (a guy with long hair and rad beard) who was cashiering, shout out to that dude, welcoming attitude and ready to help ya out at a moments notice! The vibes are good, the food is tasty, filling and not overpriced. Need I say more? I will definitely be back here again.
